Compilation of other resources that may be useful in your MMD journey.
I will list down more whenever I have time.

MMD, MMM, NexGiMa, PMXE
MikuMikuDance
Animation tool developed by HiguchiM (Yu Higuchi) from 2008 and still being used today even when it hasn't received updates since forever.
LearnMMD has resources to help you installing the required framework and other stuff.

[LearnMMD]
MikuMikuMoving
An alternative tool compatible with MMD, developed by Mogg. It has more features like SoftBodies support and ability to import MP3 files.

[MMM]
NexGiMa
A tool compatible with MMD, developed by 猫のしもべ. Useful for baking physics.

[NexGiMa]
PMX Editor
An editor tool that lets you modify and optimise PMX models for MMD, developed by 極北P. Initially known as PMD Editor back when MMD used to only support PMD format.

3D Softwares
Metasequoia 4
Go-to modelling software, developed by tetraface, for most MMD users who want to start making their own models from scratch as it has its own native PMD export.
It's still receiving updates, and has both freemium and premium features, with recent updates now support VRM format for freemium, and premium offering more import/export options like FBX format.

[Metaseq]
Blender
Commonly used 3D software nowadays for both modelling and rendering, offers more features compared to Metasequoia 4. Also, it's FREE!
Developed by Blender Foundation and it's open-sourced for others to create their own build, such as Goo Engine by DillonGoo, and Blender for Artists.

MMD-Tools is the common plugin for importing/exporting PMD/PMX models and VMD motions.

Current version is 4.2 but version 5.0 is on the way.

[Blender]
VRoid Studio
3D humanoid avatar maker developed by Pixiv. It's open, user-friendly which allows users to use the models created within the software for commercial use such as Vtubing and streaming (basically anything as long as it's not competitive against this software).

It has parameters for face and body editing, texture editor for users to edit or create brand new textures, as well as a drawing-based hair tool that users can also use to make various assets.

The .vroid format can be converted to VRM format, which can be then used to convert to various formats, including PMX for MMD.

[VRoid Studio]
Various Plugins/Softwares
MME (MikuMikuEffect)
Neccesary plugin for MMD if users want to use effects and shaders. Installation is straight-forward (refer to LearnMMD for tutorial).

[LearnMMD]
MMD-Tools
Plugin for Blender to import/export PMD/PMX models and VMD motions.

[MMD-Tools]
PMXE Plugins
Various plugins you can use to make your life easier when using PMX Editor.

Noesis
Simple model viewer developed by Rich Whitehouse. Supports a lot of game model and animation formats.
Requires minmode's plugin to export as PMX or VMD.

MMDLOID's Physics Maker
A tool for PMXE to make physics easily, developed by MMDLOID. Supports importing/exporting physics values as templates in CSV format.
(I actually never used this so I don't know how it works, but might be useful for some of you?)

[Physics Maker]
VRoid2PMX
A tool for exporting VRoid models (must export as VRM first), developed by miu.
It's very direct and you can use the exported models as-is, but I would recommend editing them after export to make them look better.

miu also has other tools like PMXDressup (for fitting parts) and PMXTailor (for editing clothing physics), so you can check them out as well!

[VRoid2PMX]
Where to find models, motions, assets, fx, etc
NicoNicoSeiga
Website under NND (NicoNicoDouga) specifically for images and other media. Due to NND's recent restriction, a VPN is required to access it.

[Guide by AkemiWhy]
3D Nicovideo
Another website under NicoNicoDouga. It's a distribution hub commonly used by JP modelers to put up their models, and has a function to live view the models, as well tagging system to filter works.
VPN is not required to access it, however you'll need an NND account to download the models.

[3D Nicovideo]
Bowlroll
A hosting service that's commonly used by JP MMD'ers to host their downloads. You can search by tags to find what you're looking for by putting */file/tag/*keyword of your choice* at the end of the url.

[Bowlroll]
3D-Arts.Misanyan
A JP model directory website by misanyan_notes. Useful to search for models or other stuff made by JP and oversea MMD'ers.
Also has a function to filter by modelers.
